Lions Clubs International was founded in the United States in 1917 and is the world’s largest charitable organization. The LEO Club is a youth organization of Lions Clubs International, which aims to provide youth with leadership development, more social experience and opportunities for self-development by serving the community. The Leo Club is the world’s largest youth charity organization with a history of more than 60 years.
Richmond Lahoo LEO Club, sponsored by Richmond Lahoo Lions Club, was established on October 30, 2015. In recent years, the Lahoo LEO Club has actively involved in the community service by volunteering collectively, organizing charity fundraising activities, and hosting peace posters auction to support Canuck Children’s Hospice and BC & Alberta Guide Dogs projects. Leos are allowed to create opportunities, gain experience, and improve their leadership skills so as to have a positive impact on the community. The Lahoo LEO Club won the Leo Club Excellence Award for the year 2019-2020, which represents the highest distinction a Leo club can achieve.
